“When I was playing in my first National tournament, I played against Ron Feldman.  Because I met Ron back in the late 1970s, the bridge tournaments were not computerized, and while he did not know who I was, he took the time after the bridge session to find me and let me know he thought I had good ability.   From that point, he not only was the first expert player who asked me to play bridge with me, he actually found me other bridge players of his caliber to also play bridge with me.    What struck me here is that Ron went out of his way to help me when he had never met me before.  Very few bridge players take the time to recognize other people’s ability at the bridge table. And, it is rare when an expert player shows the kindness that Ron showed me. And, for that I am grateful.  I wish that other bridge players of any caliber who were better than other bridge players took the time to help other players. That attitude would help tournament bridge players everywhere.”

[Lynn Deas Has Won Several World Championships]

Lynn Deas sadly passed away on May 20, 2020.  I was lucky enough to play with her as a Bridge Partner in the 1982 World Championships in Biarritz France.
